In collaboration with Royal Dutch Mint, we celebrated the 100-year anniversary of Wageningen University & Research with a commemorative coin and a larger-than-life Heads or Tails installation. Through a website, people can submit a dilemma to settle pressing predicaments, such as ‘pizza or pasta’, or choose from prewritten ones to flip the coin for fun. The installation resolves the issue by flipping a massive coin 4 metres into the air, with 500 kg of force. Easy to (de)construct and transport, we provided Royal Dutch Mint with a promotional tool they can use for future commemorative coins as well.
My responsibilities:
Tweak and simplify user journey
Oversee development of a complex CMS / Backend to queue and moderate user dilemma's
Intense third-party cooperation on coin machine
Extensive real-time testing and integration
Coordinate the big reveal at Wageningen University
